THE FUTURE

While operating the interim facility for cold-stunned turtles and stranded seals, the NMLC is developing a hospital to care for the full range of animals that strand and a science/education center for the public.

The NMLC Trustees and staff are raising money to convert a 17,000 sq. ft. former lumber warehouse, with 2,800 sq. ft. of new construction, into the stranded marine animal hospital and marine animal discovery center.

In the future, tourists and residents will be able to visit the marine animal discovery center and learn about marine animals and how they serve as a window to the ocean and its conditions.
